The Twin bottles

A combination of Art and Photography to share a message of hope for the future generations to combat climate change and plastic pollution in the oceans.

ABOUT

the project

The Twin Bottles: Message in a Bottle project , promoted by the Gabriele and Anna Braglia Foundation, stems from the encounter between the international sculptor Helidon Xhixha and the young Swiss photographer Giacomo "Jack" Braglia . United by the desire to launch a message of denunciation of the pollution of the seas due to the dispersion of plastic, the two artists have decided to merge their techniques, - shaping steel and 3D photography - in the design of a large installation from the heart environmentalist who reproduces, on an enlarged scale, two bottles that float on the water as abandoned waste; one modeled in stainless steel by Xhixha and then mirror polished, the other coated with photographic images of plastic waste taken by Braglia .

Thanks to its extraordinary topical message and the great attention received by the national and international media, after its presentation in Venice on 20 July 2019, in the Grand Canal in front of Ca 'Vendramin Calergi, The Twin Bottles: Message in a Bottle has become the symbol of the fight against plastic in the seas. Housed in the prestigious garden of the Triennale Milano from 16 October to 15 December 2019, it now lands in the water space of the Yacht Club de Monaco, Principality of Monaco. Helidon Xhixha's sculpture and Giacomo "Jack" Braglia's photograph come together in an ambitious project that denounces the current environmental alarm situation, becoming witnesses of the present in which they live. A task that today more than ever is up to art, called to still exercise its social function.
